[edit] Linux compatibility
Internet Explorer version 6 running on Linux using Wine v0.9.23
WINE does a good job of runnnig most older Microsoft Windows software, including the popular Microsoft Office software and the Internet Explorer web browser.
You can absolutely not run Mindows Vista on your Linux computer.
[edit] File system
Windows is rumored to use something called ntfs as it's filesystem. You can mount and read from such filesystems all you want using the Linux kernel, but you can not write to ntfs.
