Kingston

Kingston is a computer hardware manufacturer. They make very solid and reliable keyboards and other hardware such as SSDs and SD cards. Their SD cards and many of their SSDs are of questionable quality.

Kingston MicroSDHC flash cards[edit]

Two Kingston MicroSDHC cards we had died within 5 months, one after 3 months and one after 5. Kingston did replace both cards with new ones which still work. The RMA process was simple, send cards in, get new cards back.

Kingston SSDs[edit]

We bought a cheap Kingston A400 240GB SATA drive and it died after 3 months. Getting a replacement under warranty from the retailer was easy enough. However, we are not using it since we simply don't trust it.

We are still using a Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD bought in 2014.

This makes it difficult to give any general recommendation on Kingston SSDs, they could last 5 years or 3 months.

Keyboards[edit]

The HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is very nice.
