Streaming audio does not allow you to jump in the file, cut, edit and similar.

Thus; you will sooner or later want to dump audio files.

[edit] Using MPlayer

Mplayer can play most audio formats and can also dump them to a file.

mplayer -dumpstream "rtsp://lyssna.sr.se/p3/front/Front1B-060821.rm" -dumpfile front1B-060821.rm

This makes mplayer dump the realmedia stream from rtsp://lyssna.sr.se/p3/front/Front1B-060821.rm to the file front1B-060821.rm.
