Bitstamp is a Bitcoin exchange.[1] Bitstamp's headquarters are in London, England whereas the bank they use to process deposits and withdrawals is Slovenian.[2] Like other large Bitcoin exchanges, Bitstamp offers an API to aid in automatic or programmatic trading.

In February 2014, the company suspended withdrawals for several days in the face of a denial-of-service attack.[3][4]
