Avidemux is a video editing program designed for video conversion, editing and processing. It is written in C++ and it has GUI interfaces both for Qt and GTK+.
[edit] HTML5 video
Avidemux can be used to convert almost any video file to the non-free HTML5 video format MP4.
Select MPEG-4 AVC for video, AAC for audio and MP4 as container if you want a MP4 video file playable in non-free HTML5-supported browsers.
It does not support Ogg Theora video output, so you will have to use ffmpeg2theora for that.
